I cannot access a particular site from a particular conputer, but can
on another computer (same network). Security settings have been set to
default, cache, cookies, history cleared. IP settings confirmed. Did
a winsock repair, updated text files, nada. Pinging the website from
the DOS screen shows the computer recieves the same number of packets
as origionally sent, yet IE nor FireFox will successfully pull up the
site www.tdiclub.com. Even typed in the static IP address. All this
with the firewall closed/off. I'm running XP pro, SP2.

I've heard something about an IIS certificate, but windows help was
more confusing that a help. I HATE reloading windows. Any ideas?

Check the MTU from that machine to the site.

ping -f <sitename> -l 1472

If 1472 times out reduce the packet size until the ping returns, then set
the MTU on the machine's interface to that number plus 28.

Update: My computer can access the site (65.110.12.165 aka
TDIClub.com) from my friends computer, same ISP, same service a couple
miles from my home. Did a tracert (DOS) on both IP addresses with my
machine. All is the same, except for one IP address is different (all
others match exactly, even the same number of addresses).

Could there be a problem with the server on 4.68.101.161 not allowing
my browser to pull up the site?

DOS pings show successfull transmission (send & receive).

Regarding the MTU, I don't know what that is.

Any help is appreciated.

I accessed the site with my computer on a friends IP address (same
service, ISP). Again, DOS tracert showed "exactly" the same routing
except for line#6. My address routes through (4.68.101.161) and is not
successfull with my browsers.

What with that IP address could be causing me fits?

MTU= Maximum Transmission Unit (Packet size). The MTU can become a problem
if you have a mismatched MTU through and NAT device (Router). If the MTU of
the connection to the internet is reduced to a lower MTU, say 1300 bytes,
and your computer tries to send packets of 1472 bytes the packets will be
dropped.

What was the results of the test I posted?
