New to MOM - Architecture question |
|
|
Before I go deeper learning MOM 2005, I was wondering if this following
setup was possible:
We are a consulting shop and our clients sometimes ask us to manage their
server environnement.
Could it be possible to have lets say a MOM server at each client site and
those MOM server would report to our site?
Thanks for any help on this

Hello,
Thank you for your posting!
you have 2 choices,
1. 1 Management Server at each Customer Site, and 1 or above Management
Servers of a Management Group in you Office. Configure Multitering
Infrastructure to forward alerts/discovery information from customer sites
to your office. You need to configure MCF and MMPC for that.
2. Management Servers and Management Groups in Office.
Establish a fast network connection between your Office and Customer Site,
Install MOM agent on each Customer's Server. And report to your Management
Server
If you have any questions, please feel to let me know. I am glad to be of
assistance.

Don't forget there is a supported maximum of 10 groups reporting to 1 at |
higher level, whilst a mom server can support up to 4000 agents.
