Hi !

I'm getting this error as I try to connect to the site manager :

Error: 0
Description: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication
Required.
Severity: 5
Source: AEJavaProxy
Debug info: N/A
Extra info: N/A
Client Source: Login::ctlLogin_Click
Recommended Action: N/A

The same problem is described in this article :

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=885276

I'v found a user with the same problem on this forum, but the answer het get
send him back to this article, which didn't help me.

I've actually contacted MS Support, Received and installed the Hotfix, but
my problem isn't resolved.

Collegues of mine that have installed the exact same site manager, from the
same source, and try to connect to the same server don't have any problem
using it tough... And as we're quite a big company our workstations should
have the same configuration, so I can't find where the problem comes from...

Could anyone give me a piece of advice to solve this ?

Thx by advance...

Hi,

did you install the fix on the Site Manager machine?
Do you have automatic configuration enabled in IE on the Site Manager
machine?
The fix will not work with automatic configuration enabled. You need to
explicitly define a proxy in IE.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi !

as the server hosting the site manager doesn't seems to be the problem (my
collegues connect to it without any problem), and as there's no indication in
the article saying wether you should install the Hotfix on the server or on
the client, I've assumed that I only had to install it on my machine.
Moreover, I don't want to cause any problem in others' work by updating a
server wich has always been working fine...

I can't say wether automatic configuration is ON or OFF cause in our work
environnement we don't have access to this pannel in IE's configuration. But
as we don't have access to this option, it's fixed for ALL workstations, and
so I'm quite sure that the configuration is the same for all of us in the
team ... and I'm the only one to get an error !

To be short :

- the server doesn't seem to be the problem
- all of us have the same IE configuration, the same J# installation
(component needed if you want to install Site manager), the same site manager
installation... but I'm the only one to get an error
- all of us have the same version of the Framework

Is it possible that another "software" installed on my workstation interfers
with site manager ? I don't know... version of the JVM, version of a certain
dll , ... As none of my collegues seems to have any problem, I tent to think
the problem is client-side...

Hi Bart,

actually the fix only has to be installed on the Site Manager machine. So
that was correct.
As you don't have access to this panel you would need to open a support case
to get your problem analyzed.

Cheers,
Stefan
