Sharepoint and Macs |
|

Hi,
Does anyone know how well WSS works on Macs. Can they upload documents and
add to lists, etc. Are there any limitations?
Thanks,
Josh |

Depends on the level of Safari (or whatever browser you're using). For
the most part you can use a WSS site as-is, upload documents, add items
to lists, sort views, etc.
You cannot (at least I can't and I'm on the latest version of Safari)
drag and drop web parts and the right hand window that lets you set
properties is done differently with less features available.

Hi Josh,
The WSS page content is divided into three level. For macintosh, only the
level 3 is supported at IE 5.2 for Macintosh and Netscape Navigator 6.2 for
Macintosh. This article introduces the detailed information for you:
About Web browser support for Web Part Pages

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further question on this
matter.

Wei-Dong Xu,
I went to your link that discusses the 3 levels of browser support and it
was helpful, but I am looking for more details on Mac interoperablility with
WSS and WSPS. I am a technology specialist for K12 North America and am in
an engagement with a school who currently has a mixed Mac/PC environment. We
have engaged a couple partners to assist us and we have not come to a
consnsus on how Mac IE and/or Safari will work, especially for uploads. Can
you point me to any sites that cover these issues in depth? You can reply
here, or I am in the MS GAL. Thanks.
