We have a DFS tree, and one folder in particular within this tree that is set
up for replication. Both target servers are in the same subnet, however,
only one of the DFS roots is within the same subnet. Both servers are set up
with the same priority for replication "medium". The users report sporadic
replication performance in that sometimes they see replication occuring in
10-30 seconds and sometimes 10 minutes or more. Any suggestions on how to
tweak this so that they see more consistent results? Also, even in the most
ideal network topology scenario, is it ever possible to have replication
occur in 5 seconds or less if there are just a few small files?

What is inconsistent? The link replica or the root replica?

I'll have a poke around and see if there's a registry key to change the
frequency of change notifications. There is in AD.
