Evict a node and add a new node.. |
|
|
Hi.
We have a SQL Win2003 cluster with 2 nodes (Active-Passive).
The passive node is crashed due to hardware failure all the resource are on
the active node and the users are working.
We have raplaced the crashed node with another the OS is ON.
We have logged on active node on the cluster admin and we have evicted the
crashed node. After The evicting process we have obtained a screen message
saying that the node is evicted but the cleanup is not performed. Are
available extensive informations Error Id 1722 (000006ba) the RPC server is
not available.
The questions are, Can we SAFE raplace the crashed node with another node
(same name, ip public and heartbeat)?
Must we perform other operations before adding the new node to the cluster?
What means cleanup is not performed?
Where we can find extensive information like said in the pop up screen?
Thanks in advance. |

Yes, it is safe to add another node and install SQL.
The error message you got is basically saying that the cluster admin tool
was not able to contact the server that was being evicted to let it know
that it is not part of the cluster anymore.

You can also run cluster node /forcecleanup if you want.
