prevent internet access for certain PC |
|
|
Hi
I am using Routing and Remote Access for internet sharing in my domain.
I want to configure Routing and Remote Access to prevent the PC having
IP 192.168.1.34 from using the internet. All other IPs will be able to
use the internet except the mentioned PC. Is that possible? (I only
want to prevent the PC from using internet, it will be able to access
other PCs in the network)
Please let me know if this is possible using Routing and Remote Access
and if so then how.
Thanks in advance. |

I can't think of any way you could do this from RRAS. You could do it by
noy giving the client a default gateway address.

Is it possible to prevent all users from using a specific port? like
prevent all users from browsing (by blocking port 80) |

I just wonder why you set up RRAS for Internet access in the first place
if you don't want your clients to browse the Internet? What is RRAS doing
apart from that?

Actually, I thought that if I find out how to block users from browsing
then I will be able to use that information to figure out how to block
FTP, Email, etc. and allow only browsing. |

If you do not have firewall software to do this, you need to set up
packet filters on the public NIC of your RRAS server. They are not specific
enough to have different settings for different users.
