Hi.

After I installed the above mentioned patch The Live Communication Service
would not automatically start after the reboot. I was further unable to
manually start it. I am running Live Communication Server 2003. I have know
idea why and update to direct x would prevent this service from starting but
once the patch was uninstalled everything was back to normal. If anyone has
any ideas i would be very grateful for you help.

Was there an event log message detailing the failure? Ususally permissions,
ability to bind to the ports that the server is using and the ability to
connect to the AD are the key things that I can think of that would cause
failures. If any of the core service DLLs were messed with this might cause
an issue as well, but DirectX doesn't bring to mind any key areas off the
top of my head.
