upgrading file/print clusters |
|
|
Good afternoon,
We are about to upgrade our existing file/print clusters that are running
Windows 2000 Advanced Server to new hardware and Windows Server 2003. We
are using 2 node clusters with Exchange 5.5 on one node and file/print on
the other. The Windows Server 2003 clusters are running Exchange 2003 on
one node and we will be migrating the file/print to the other node. Does
anyone know of a way this can be done without having to visit all of the
desktops that are connected to print queues on the exisisting clusters? If
necessary we can move the file/print virtual name that these queues are now
on to the new clusters.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike McDermott

Thanks for the reply. I read about the printer migration tool and am going
to look at it.
You read correctly. We're running Exchange 2003 on the new clusters.

will backup and restore all your shared printers to the new box.
I think I understood your post correcty, but, just to make sure, you know
that Exchange 5.5 will not install/run on W2003, right?
