I don't believe FRS cares about last access time. FRS monitors the USN
change journal for "close" records. When a file is closed, this action is
recorded in the USN journal and FRS will replicate the file (assuming the
schedule is open). DFS Replication is the same way, fyi.

I want to optimize file servers that are memebers of a dfs replica set,
that's why I ask this question. The dfs share is an application
installation source for workstations. Most sources are MSI's (vary from 2
MB to 500 MB) with some scripting around it.
How does the comming R2 DFS-FRS cope with this ... is it the same as
NTFRS?
