Hello,

Maybe anyone can point me to some resources (best practices) for configuring
shared storage for clustering.
What can be recommendations for distributing space of 12 disks in shared
storage for A/P SQL cluster?
For now I did such way :
1. Array of 2 disks with RAID1 for SQL transaction logs containing one LUN
2. Array of 10 disks with RAID10 for SQL data. This array contains 3 LUN's -
SQL data LUN (takes most space) and small LUN's for Quorum and MSDTC.

Is this configuration optimal from the performance standpoint? Or should
LUN's for quorum and MSDTC be located in same array as LUN for SQL
transaction logs? Or maybe there is no difference?

To dedicate a separate RAID1 LUN for Quorum and MSDTC is not affordable.

Darius K.

hi dakl!

your config is ok, you donīt need a seperate raid1 lun for quorum and msdtc,
it should be only reported as a physical disk to the cluster nodes, and itīs
the right way like you have done it, to make some small lunīs on another
raid-group. i would distribute your cluster disks in the same way.
