i realize that this is somewhat an SPS related question, but i'm taking
my chances that someone here may know the ansers :

we have LCS integrated into our sharepoint environment. i added the
"users" web part in our compay's site to the front page of the site.
both the LCS and SPS servers are on the same domain and network. when i

access SPS using its hostname from a browser (http://servername), i can

see the status of all my LCS users in the web part. if i access it
using its FQDN (http://server.domain.com) i can see the list of users,
but i cant see their status (online\offline\busy etc..) .
is this something i need to configure in the site or portal settings ?

It sounds like an SPS issue - for LCS this shouldn't matter as far as I'm
aware of. Are you getting to the same server (IP) with both names? I
believe you can end up at different virtual servers on the machine if those
are set up differently. I am no SPS guru, though, I'm just leveraging
backing knowledge of IIS.
