Creating additional fields |
|
|
I want to create additional fields in the database. I have a Marketing
Top-Level website, which has a new "Document Library". I need additional
fields on the "Document Library" page. In addition to "name", I need:
"Press Release"
"Subscription"
I want to remove
"Modified"
"Modified by"
"Checked Out to"
Could someone recommend a good development manual to purchase, if I want to
custom these sites? |

Hola,
I don't think you need to develop something. With the default functionality
of Document Libraries you can create new fields an, using a custom view (of
editing the default one), you can make "invisible" the fields that you don't
need. Btw, you can't remove the fields that you mentioned.

Hi again,
If you need to customize only the look and feel, you can edit the style
sheet files of crete a new one. If you need to make changes in the menu's
self, you need to edit the templates and/or make and replace the WebControls
with yours.
