Looking for ANY guidance as to what thresholds would need adjusting for
a large environment (40,000 users). All fast links. I'm really just
looking for guidelines as which I would even need to CONSIDER
adjusting. I'm not looking to fix it if it ain't broke, just tweak to
have more effective alerting.

Hello,

Thank you for your posting!

You should configure the Intrasite and Intersite Replication latency in the
"Active Directory Windows 2000 and Windows 2003\Active Directory
Availability\Script-AD Replication Monitoring."
Please also configure the "Client Side Monitoring".

If you have any questions, please feel to let me know. I am glad to be of
assistance.

Directory dude. I've been asked to 'make recommendations' for the ADMP
for this new environment i'm in.....40,000 users. Thanks in advance.

Hi Joe,

You should check out the ADMP guide on
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/mom/mom2005/maintain/admpgu
ideformom2005.mspx

because everything is depended on your environment. You decide how your
rpelication is, and you can adjust MOM to that. so basically you have to
check on your architectual design and documents to adapt MOM to it.

Just deploying the ADMP is not ennuf. You can implement client side
monitoring for instance to check DC/GC availability, but you are also
able to adjust the minimal number of GC's you want to have in your AD
(default is 3) So, even though you are not a MOM dude, you gotta RTFM
;), but you could also go back to your momnitoring department, let them
work their way to the documents and ask you specific setttings.

Hope this shoves you a bit further on the road to MOM
