ip dns problems |
|
|
I have a domain on a win 2000 server.
I changed my ip adress on my comp, which is on a domain. But when i try to
ping or get to my comp by domain name i get the old ip adress(the old ip
adress
is given to another comp)?!!??
I tried to get my self off the domain then change the ip and then join again
but still the same problem.
Cant find anywhere on my exchange where to change the ip adress or where it
is linked to my domain name.
When i do nslookup for my domain name allso gives me the old ip adress.
Someone told me to look at A records but i'm a bit of newbe. i looked on my
win2000 server
that holds the doman, and looked in the administrative tools->dns and cant
find where it holds
the ip adresses of the computers on the domain
pls help
thx |

Yes, you need to delete the old A record from DNS. To do this go to administrative tools>DNS. If you have WINS server, you may need to do the same too.
