Cluster 2003, disk not showing in explorer |
|
|
i installed a 2 node cluster, direct attach via 2 hba's to a CX300. Path
management is handled by powerpath failover software. The 2 physical disks
created were Q: for the quorum and S: for data. The quorum disk shows in
explorer on both nodes but the data disk doesn't. It's in device manager and
is seen in disk manager but not explorer.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Is the cluster service started? If no, start it.
Is the S: Disk resource online in cluster? If no, bring it online.
Are you logging into the box through Terminal Services (or Remote Desktop)?
If yes, try logging off and logging back in again.

John

You say the disk is visible in Disk Manager. You created and formatted an
NTFS partition on that disk?

Thanks for all the replies. I think we got it sussed. One of the admin
profiles has all the network shares and one of them is mapped as s: so
explorer had a conflict and wouldn't display the disk. The customer supplied
the drive letters :-)
Changing the drive letter to L: and re-creating the resourse solved it.
