Hello,
I have 200clients with WinXp SP2 installed at our school, I want to remotely
install the ghost8.0 client from my ghotserver.
The problem is that the firewall of Xp won't let that happen.

I wonder if there's no script that let's me allow to open the specific port,
then I can put that script in the profile of my users so the ports are opend
when they logon.
(and stay opend)

Tx for any help.

Hi,

Are these computers member of domain? If they are you can use:
- group policy to control Windows XP firewall
- group policy to run logon/logoff and startup/shutdown scripts

The problem here is also that if you want to copy a script (file) over share
you will need much more then one TCP port.

Hi,

Policy for Windows Firewall can be found under:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Network
Connections\Windows Firewall

You need to configure this policy on OU where your computer accounts are.

Miha,

tx for the help, but when i check GP, i only find a policy to control the
security center, not the firewall, can you specify where I can find that?
So yes, all the computers are in a domain. Should I adjust the GP in the
ou computers, or in the ou users?

Greetings,
N.
