Sharepoint Search Web Service |
|
|
Hi all,
Everytime when I tried to do a search by calling the SharePoint Search.asmx
web service, I received "The Local Security Authority Cannot Be Contacted".
The call was made from a CMS template hosted in a Win2000 server and
SharePoint is hosted is a Win2003 virtual server. For those who know about
Stephen Huen's solution, that's what I'm using.
This error occurs only in my client's environment. I had it working fine on
my workstation. On my workstation, the CMS site is on Win2003 and SharePoint
is deployed in a Virtual PC environment. I was able to perform searches by
calling the web service (http://<server>/_vti_bin/search.asmx) against the
SharePoint indexes that reside within the virtual PC from a CMS posting.
The only difference between my environment and the client's environment is I
have both CMS and SP deployed under Windows 2003 and the client has their CMS
in Windows 2000 and Sharepoint in Windows 2003. Not really sure if this
really matter.
If anybody can shed some light, that would be great.
Cheers,
Jeff |

Hi Jeff,
as the problem occurs when calling the SPS Search web service you should
post this question in a SharePoint related newsgroup.
Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Jeff,
there are a couple of newsgroups depending on the subtechnology being
involved on the name news server as this MCMS newsgroup.
Just look for all newsgroups starting with microsoft.public.sharepoint
Cheers,
Stefan
