Hey All,

I noticed there was a post a while back
(http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.cmserver.general/browse_thread/thread/7bcc7140bf69058c/c2218c7ea2066b9e?lnk=st&q=nrdcapplication+429&rnum=1&hl=en#c2218c7ea2066b9e)
that mentioned that when they tried to connect to a database using the
DCA they were getting the following error:

Database Creation Failed
ActiveX component can't create object
429
NRDCApplication

(this error happens after you have selected the database, but before it
asks you if you wish to use the current database / add CMS admins)

We are getting the same error here, and have since reinstalled Windows
Script 5.6 (as suggested here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/2/5/4250f79a-c3a1-4003-9272-2404e92bb76a/MCMS+2002+-+(complete)+FAQ.htm#09275018-1E54-4F09-99E0-77C4922E92B1)
but to no avail. We have tried restarting / reinstalling CMS /
connecting to other databases etc to no avail. Other machines are able
to select the same database just fine.

We even tried creating a brand new database, and using that, but got
the same error.

My guess is that there is an object that is being called inside of
NRDCApplication that isn't installed on the machine (which is why we
get the ActiveX component error). What objects are created at that
time? Is there a more detailed log somewhere?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Shaun McCarthy

Hi Shaun,

the only known reason for this problem is the Windows Script problem
mentioned below.
If this does not resolve the problem, please open a support case to get this
analyzed in more details - or alternativly reinstall the box.

Cheers,
Stefan
