NT4 upgrade locks up "registering components" |
|
|
We have a customer with a server situation that we can't take down, so I
built a temp NT4 BDC, promoted it to PDC, then brought the box back to do the
Windows 2003 Server upgrade. The hardware has been tested and is good, but
the upgrade gets to "registering components", and locks up everytime. I
cannot seem to find any suggestions out there, so if anybody has any help? |

Hi,
I'd like to suggest your try to perform a clean installation on the new
machine to see the efforts.

I ran a clean install first just to make sure 2003 would load fine, then did
a clean install of NT 4 to do the upgrade. So yes, a clean install works fine.
