PlaceHolder Control Disabled |
|
|
Hi,
I have a prblem in that the placeholder controls on my client's machine
seems to be disabled. It looks like the placeholder activex controls
installation were skipped by the client.
Is there somewhere where I can download and install these Placeholder
actvex controls?
Its not a security issue as with the same user when I log on remotely to the
CMS server the placeholder controls are accessible.
Thanx, |

Hi Sam,
the Active X controls will automatically be downloaded to the client machine
when you access the MCMS website in authoring mode.
If this does not work then your user account most likely does not have
sufficient permissions to download the ActiveX controls or your browser
settings do not allow the download of the ActiveX controls.
A workaround for this can be found here:

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan.
I tried the workaround approach meaning which I copied the nrdhtml.cab to
the client machine, unzipped it and then tried registering the 2 DLLs in the
folder. But the problem was only one (ncbmprdr.dll) got registered on the
client machine. The other DLL (nrdhtml.dll) registration failed giving an
error code 0x8007005.
The placeholders on the client machine are still disabled and the client is
desparate to publish as they are fast approaching their "Go-Live" deadline.
Any ideas?
Thanx,
Sam

Hi Sam,
sounds like a misconfiguration of your client machine.
Either open a support call with Microsoft to get this analyzed or consider
reinstalling the box.
Cheers,
Stefan
