Can I change the account that the MOM agent is running under from LocalSystem
to aother local administrative account on the managed server? Can I do this
without pushing down another agent configuration and just stop the service
and change the logon property for the service account and restart it up at
the managed server?

I'm using the SQL 2000 MGT Pack and it appears it utilizes the SQL builtin
admin account to run various scripts to gather its information and normally i
remove the sa role from this builtin administrator account and would prefer
to have it use another local server admin account for which I have password
control and can guarantee database security. The Win server administrator
password is controlled by a different part of our organization which
should'nt have any database rights.

Tom -

You can change the MOM agent action account from LocalSystem to another
account through the Admin console. Select the agent you want to change on
the agent managed computer pane, right click for "update agent settings" and
fill in the "agent action account" you want to change this agent to run
under. You cannot change the MOM service to run under another account on
the local machine to fix this issue - the service itself will always appear
running under LocalSystem or Network Service.

Thanks!

Stephanie
