Needing to redo my resume. And I am wanting an entry level position in
highway contruction or heavy equipment operator. I have only a little
experience and I have just finished taking a class for highway construction.
So I want an entry level position to further educate me and my get to my
finishing goals and that is to be a heavy equipment operator. Any examples
or suggestions would be very helpful to me to build the best resume to get me
my job I want. Thanks

My guess is that you will won't see this post...but I will post for anyone
who searches on the web and comes across it. I have a soft spot for the
hardened truck driver...

You may want to check out www.monster.com or one of the resume builder
websites. Many of the trucking companies that provide training services may
also have resumes. An example of someone who has worked on a construction
site:
http://www.mhca.mb.ca/Employment/reshhiebert.html

In most cases entry level positions require knowing someone or speaking with
someone rather than dropping off a resume. It might not hurt to go in and
talk to one of the supervisors with the construction companies. Many of
them are very nice folks and will take a few minutes of their day to talk to
you about what they require. They may tell you to get some experience, or
they may have you take a driving test and a drug test that day if you have
your CDL and have been through a driving school already.

My little brother drives trucks and has been doing so for quite a few
years...and several family members have driven trucks. To my knowledge, he
has never created a resume...he started entry-level with a contract from the
training school, driving a beer truck, of all things. From there people
have always given him a job.

looking for a job. I have just graduated from my class at the YWCA, I took
to help me familurize me in "Highway Construction for Women." Again, Thanks!

Note: This was not actually one of my replies... It appears that whomever
replied put my name in the field. C'est la vie.
