and which clients are making the queries? |

Yes. In the DNS MMC properties for the server use either
the Logging tab or the Debug Logging tab (the latter
for much finer grain control and additional info.)

Yes, it is possible through Advanced logging, but under high load the DNS
service could fail because it is normally a read only application and
requires little resources. If the service has to start wring a log for
hundreds or thousands a queries a minute the service could fail and log 7050
events.
