Can any one plz clarify the difference between the Site Administrator and the
Site Collection Administrator in sharepoint portal server environment. I am a
bit confused in the two. My webpart asks for authentication if the user is
not the Site Collection Administrator. Else it works fine. Can anyone help me
in this?

Regards,

Fahad

Neither of these terms are used in SharePoint Team Services (v1.0, 2001)
which is this newsgroup.

If you are using SharePoint Portal Server 2003 (as seems likely) the
newsgroup is

microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver

If you are using Windows SharePoint Services the newsgroup is

microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices

Please post to one of those.
