WIP Object Wizard - Virtual Directories Not Showing Up |
|
|
I create a new Virtual Directory in IIS.
I go into TI Manager and add a New WIP Object. When I pull down the Virtual
directories list, my new virtual directory does not show up. In fact, only
three entries show up in the list:
SharePoint Central Admnistration/_vti_adm
SharePoint Central Admnistration/help
SharePoint Central Admnistration/images
Nothing under Default Web Site shows up in the list.
I'm logged in as an Administrator who has full permissions to the virtual
directory. I've even turned on anonymous access in IIS.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get all of the virtual
directories to show up in the list?

Is this IIS6 ? Is the "this virtual directory is an application directory"
icon showing on the virtual directory? We have had problems with Share
Point, I can't remember if this was one of them. Is your default web site
actually running? I know there is something in Share Point to restrict
access to virtual directories, but have no clue what/where to do/look.

1. Yes, it is IIS6
2. I'm not sure what that icon looks like. But, all of the icons on the
server I'm having a problem with look the same as on the server where it
works okay.
3. Default Web Site is not stopped and I successfully browsed to one of the
web services under Default Web Site.
I'll go talk to one of our SharePoint gurus to see if they know about a
setting that restricts access to Virtual Directories.
Thanks

The advice of excluding the the virtual directory you are using for TI form
sharepoint should do the trick . If that doesn't work try creating your on
application pool and having the TI virtual directory use that application
pool instead of the default pool. Just remember to add the owner of the
pool into the HIS Runtime group.
