I was informed when I signed up for TechNet that posting would get a reply
within 24 hours. I have 2 postings that are now over 24 hours. I also
noticed that there are many valid postings with no reply at all.

What is going on? Did MS flat out lie? Is this possible a bait-and-switch
issue?

Being new to TechNet, I am concerned about what was promised with this
service.

since these newsgroups here are mostly in the context "users helping users"[/quote]
I am not sure if you will find a answer here for the TechNet situation. I
assume you got some contact information as well in the subscription
documents? So maybe you force them directly.
Best greetings from Germany

Zach

Hope this helps...

Q. I am a registered user of the TechNet Plus Managed Newsgroup service and
have posted a query. Why have I not received a response?
A. There are several reasons you might not have received a response:

• Microsoft’s commitment is to respond within the next business day after
the post appears in the Managed Newsgroups (English only).

• You may have posted in an unmanaged newsgroup. Users must post to one of
the 100-plus IT newsgroups recognized by the TechNet Managed Newsgroup
Support systems.

• You must use a registered posting alias to be recognized for support by
Microsoft. If you are not using a registered posting alias, sign in to
TechNet online services, and go to the Managed Newsgroup pages, where you’ll
find instructions on how to create or change a posting alias.

If you are using the Web-based newsgroup reader, you must enter your posting
alias in the Profile section of the newsgroup reader.

• You must wait up to 24 hours after registering or changing your posting
alias before the alias is activated. TechNet Managed Newsgroup Support
systems cannot recognize or respond to posts made under a registered posting
alias until that alias is activated.

• Users must meet eligibility requirements to use the TechNet Managed
Newsgroup Support systems for TechNet Plus. The eligibility requirements are
that you need to have a TechNet Plus subscription or a TechNet Plus Software
Assurance benefit ID. You are not eligible if you have a TechNet Standard or
TechNet Online Concierge for Software Assurance subscription.

These public groups are not part of the technet managed groups. There are
Microsoft people about, but these are just the community pages.

This group can be a little slow. I try and get in here at least once a
week, but have been swamped in work recently...
