Does anyone know the exact communications that take place after the MOM 2005
agent is installed and before required management packs are downloaded. I am
trying to determine if defined attributes are downloaded to the agent and
processed locally with the resultant set of inforation being passed back to
the MOM management server or if the processing occurs remotely from the
Management server.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there

I asked myself this question a while ago whilst using MOM 2000 SP1, I
downloaded a protocol analyser called Ethereal from www.ethereal.com and
installed it on the DCAM.
Once the analyser was running I kicked off a agent manager scan and agent
installation, I don't have the results to hand so I won't try and answer your
question directly but I do remember a lot of remote registry calls (attribute
checking) to the agent machine before the agent was installed,I imagine the
resultant set of rules are calculated and downloaded as part of the install.
