Error while examining databasememory (Setup) |

Good Mornig,
I`ve tryed to install an Microsoft Live Communicationsserver 2003
I Started the Setup, and after the Step where you must select
DestinationPathes for Database / Transaktion and Programmefiles
the Setup Stops and show me
"When examining the memory space for data base files an unexpected error
arose. Try it again."
Or In German:
"Beim Überprüfen des Speicherraums für Datenbankdateien ist ein
unerwarteter Fehler aufgetreten. Versuchen Sie es erneut."
Any Ideas?
I Tryed to take other pathes on many 3 Harddisks, all time the same Problem.

Hi,
The error massage you are referencing to should be " An unexpected error
occurred while checking for necessary space for database files. Please try
again". In this case I would remove the MSDE by means of the steps provided
in the KB :
320873 HOW TO: Manually Remove a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine

This problem might happen if your %TEMP% path is not in 8.3 format. Can you
try setting the %TEMP% to a simple path like c:\temp and try again?

Thx, But the Problem is all time the same.
(I Tryed to change the temp-path too).
One think, I have a Mysql2000 Server already installed, so in case it
could be that the setup have a problem with this, - could i peer the
live communication server with the mysql2000 server?
If I start the Setup, it try to install the MSDE all time.

The MySQL server and the MSDE server are going to fight for some of the same
TCP ports and possibly some of the same resources.
