This is what I am trying to accomplish. I have two servers, one off-site,
and I want the off-site server to be used as a mirrored image of my on-site
server. I want to replicate my data files, documents, spreadsheets, etc, and
my Exchange server data to the off-site server in as close to real-time as I
can get. I want this replication to be one-way only, on-site to off-site
server only. This one way replication is extremely important to my
organization. Is this possible with Windows 2000 server? Do I need a 3rd
party application?

I am reading into DFS and FRS and I am having problems figuring it out.
First, from what I can tell, it looks like any replication with be two-way.
Is this accurate or am I missing something? Second, how do I set-up the
shares, if this is possible. I am reading MS articles 812487, 241452 and
220938, but they are not very clear to me.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi

You can disable the dfs-link on one server. Then it works the way you want
it.
Maybe you can also set different access permissions for the backup folder.
Only
ntfrs has to be able to access it.
The only problem with this is, that such a system also replicates the
errors... it's like
an expensive raid :-) ... ok, I understand why you want to do this... but
I'd still
recommend to use an other backup solution... maybe the one I'm currently
developing?
A backup, specialized for network backups with a large amount of data... :-)
