We only have Windows Messenger 5.1 clients right now... I think this is more
of a DNS question...and we are doing a side by side migration. I have moved
one user (myself) to the new server successfully but the client is not
seeing the new server.

This is because the the SRV record is pointing to the old 2003 server
(sip.mycompany.com).

Is there a way to get it connect to the new machine when a user is moved and
keep some people on the old server or do I have to just do everyone at the
same type by changeing the A record to the new IP of 2005... move all users
and then they have them connect to the new server?

The later choice will cause some downtime but it shouldnt be bad.....

Fixed it... it was a certificate issue not allowing our two servers to
talk...

Joe - do your two servers trust each others certificates? Is late here,
but just a quick thought. Hope it helps.
