Hello!

Scenario: 2 Sites connected via VPN
Goal: Share 80 GB of Data

Is there a possibility to use DFS but avoid the first replication and to use
for the initial of the process a simple diskcopy and a physical transfer to
the second site? After implementing the data in the second site only the
cahnges or new files should be replicated.

Thanks in advance
Ulli

Unfortunately a simple file copy will not work as a prestaging mechanism and
FRS would just replicate in the content. Check out the section "How
Prestaging Works" in the FRS Technical Reference at
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/all/techref/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/windowsServ/2003/all/techref/en-us/w2k3tr_frs_how.asp
for details.
