Hello,

SBS2K, Win2K and WinXP clients.

All of my client computers, both in-house PCs and mobile users' notebooks
are running Symantec AntiVirus 10.0. It seems to work well although there
are really no reporting mechanisms. It is once again time to renew my
membership. Before I do that, I wanted to look at other alternatives. I have
heard for a long time, mostly here, that the Trend Micro solution is great
for use with SBS. I looked at Trend's site and see two product I might be
interested in: Client/Server Suite and Client/Server/Messaging Suite. I
currently have NO anti-spam software, so I was especially looking at the
suite with messaging. A few questions: first, how does the Symantec solution
stack up against Trend? One thing I was thinking was to move to Trend so
that I could get an anti-virus solution that was "Exchange aware". Trend's
seems to be that way although Symantec's only works on the client. The price
of the renewal for Symantec is just about the same as the entire
Client/Server Suite package from Trend (around $400 for 25 clients). The
Client/Server/Messaging Suite, on the other hand is running around $800.
That sounds like a lot for anti-spam. I would just like to see what people
think about Trend versus what I have now. I appreciate any help. Thanks,

Chris

I have moved all my clients to Trend CSM its well worth the money.

Wayne Small, SBS MVP from Austraila has a guide on his website (sbsfaq.com) for installing configuring and maintaining CSM.

It works, it just works

Definitely Trend Micro. Its less expensive, solid product and great
support.

Thanks to all who answered. I went ahead and ordered Trend CSM Suite for
SMB. Thought someone might like to know. Again, thanks,

Chris

Chris,

Perhaps you can report back your own experience re: Trend implementation
after you have installed it.
