This has happened twice: I have a two-node Win2K3 cluster, with drives on a
SAN. The cluster is active/active, with two virtual servers, each of which
are providing access to user data via shared folders.

I created a folder on one of the SAN drives and shared it (Everyone has all
rights), then gave specific NTFS permissions to a certain Group so that they
could get in.

This worked fine, but, when I patched the physical nodes, I had to reboot,
so failed over the cluster (did one node at a time, rebooted, then failed
over). After doing this, the share was gone (folder was still there, NTFS
permissions were still there, sharing was gone).

Something I need to do to use sharing on a cluster?

Thanks!

There is a resource type of "Shared Folder" (or something similar, I don't
have access to my cluster at the moment). You need to create a resource of
this type in the same application grouping that the physical disk resource
is in. This will cause the share configuration to fail back and forth from
node to node along with the drive that it's mapped to.
