We have done this for several clients. Simply use the existing email account
that is associated with most phones and create a "contact" in Exchange. Then
configure the main Exchange account to forward a copy of any email to the
"contact" account. Be sure and select to deliver to both accounts.

I suspect JP assumed that the Mobile phone user would have a POP e-mail
account and that's were it would be sent.
AFAIK it's not possible to send an e-mail to a mobile via SMS (which is
text).
I suspect you will need a 3rd party solution to convert an e-mail to SMS.
and there is a charge for the sending of the SMS of course.

Some mobile providers give the ability to send an SMS to mobiles by
emailing <mobileno>@<provider-specified-domain>, but since SMS is limited
to 160 characters per message, I'm guessing longer messages would be
truncated.
Many modern mobile phones have a full email client built-in, and can
access POP3 and IMAP accounts directly. If you have a phone that supports
this, it would be an option to make IMAP available from the SBS, and
access the user's mailbox directly.
