IA64 Clustering... |
|
|
All,
I currently have two HP RX8620 servers connected to an EMC storage
array. The internal drives on the server are mirrored via Windows disk
management and use the GPT partition type. These two disks are not
part of the cluster. All additional disks are managed by the cluster
services. One of the mirrored drives failed and I had to replace it
with a blank disk. However, now I am unable to initialize the disk as
a gpt disk. When you select the option is disk managment the disk
becomes grayed out. This only seems to be a problem on servers that
have clustering enabled. Any ideas as to why cluster services would
not allow me to convert the disks even though it is managed by the
cluster? More importantly how can remirror the boot drive? I have
tried numerous MS documents and everything else that i can think of.
Thanks

That is supported, GPT for the clustered (shared) disks is not - yet :)

GPT disks will not be supported in a cluster until the next release of the
OS.

Thanks. Back to the original question than. How do I recreate the
mirror? When you select the GPT option is disk managment you cannot
select the disk and you cannot convert it via diskpart.
Thanks Again
