I am attmepting to replicate between 2 servers but keep getting an error
that the existing share overlaps one that is already replicated.
I've looked on every root dfs I have and none overlap.

I know this particular root was created twice by mistake, and now I'm
wondering if AD has some info that is incorrect.

How do I find out why DFS is telling me this and how do I fix it?

DFS stores information in two places: the registry and AD (in a domain-based
root).

If you are using replication, then I assume you have a domain based root.
What is the exact error you are getting?
