As already posted NLB is the best way to go, though both work nicely.
To answer your questions below, storage does have to be connected, via iSCSI
(so yes, you can connect via Cat 5), SCSI, or fibber channel.
Netapp storage works nicely, I would configure DFS on it and use NLB. Look
into NLB for this situation, the cost is much less and so are the headaches.
