Restoring/moving user profile's beetwen 2003 |
|
|
Hi,
I need to move local user's account from damaged server to a new one.
All these files and folders are on SAN so there're available. We've created
new users on a new machine, right now we just need to somehow connect
folders with users somehow. Users were/are local, machines were/are members
of same domain :)(odd, I know...)
Is there any way to accomplish this task fast and most of all automated,
since it's a lot, lot of users...
greetings

Hi Piotr ,
You may have a look at following 2 tools. They can copy the files and
folders with permissions.
File Server Migration Tool
<http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/upgrading/nt4/tooldocs/msfsc.msp
x>
RoboCopy
323275 How to Use Robocopy to Copy Security Information Without Copying Any
File Data

Hope it helps.
Best regards,
