Hi,

We're trying to run a service on a server (not a DC) that accesses files on
a share on the DC. Although I run it under an account that has sufficient
rights to access that particular, it doesn't work. It says the service
didn't respond in a timely fashion.

It _does_ work when it give it Domain Admin rights. What could be the problem
here? Thanks.

Check the logs with Event Viewer for any Event ID that may indicate the
problem and I would also enable auditing of privilege use for failure only
and see if that account has logon as a service user right in Local Security
Policy [secpol.msc] user right. --- Steve
