Hi,

I'm using a domain based DFS root that is hosted on multiply servers
(all W2K3). I have added another root target and assigned two links to
that. One of the links should be disabled while the other is enabled.
FRS is not used. In case of a disaster I want to change the links and
formerly disabled one should become active.

Root target:
\\domain\software\APP -> \\server1\share (disabled)
\\server2\share (enabled)

Clients are connecting to \\domain\software\APP.

I did some tests but clients in different sites do still see the wrong
referral. Even if I manually force AD replication and restart the
client. The refresh time for the referral is set to 180secs.

Does anybody have a clue ?
Thorsten

Try restarting the Distributed File System service on the namespace server.
Let me know if that doesn't work.
