Hi,

I didnt see a WINS discussion so I think this is relevant to this group. Our
domain controller on our NT 4 domain that keeps getting a "A duplicate name
has been detected on the TCP network. The IP address of the machine that
sent the message is in the data. Use nbtstat -n in a command window to see
which name is in the Conflict state." every 12 minutes. I looked up the
hexidecimal ip address from the event log and cant seem to find a duplicate
name on the network. This device is actually a printer. I have rebuilt the
WINS database but still keep getting this error messsage. Has anyone run into
this problem before. Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you try to ping that IP in the error message? Is there more than one NIC
and/or IP on the machine?
