Recommended installation procedure |
|
|
Hi Guys! I've just finished the 2087A course (Win2000 clustering) and have
now seen/ read of two main ways of installing cluster service:-
-- Setup the shared storage on Node1 whilst Node2 is off; turn off Node1 and
configure node2, ensuring drive mappings are the same, etc.
-- Setup node1, boot node2 and install cluster on node1. Failover.
Which is the recommended setup from the perspective of the exam? Have you
any pros or cons for either? Do you have alternative methods?
Thanks!

I don't believe that this is covered on the exam, but if it were, I'd go
with the first option since it works with all versions of the O/S.
Your second bullet is off slightly. Should be:
-- Setup shared storage and install cluster on Node1 with Node2 powered off
, then boot up Node2 and join cluster.
