Has anyone seen this warning before? This is a new cluster setup. I run
through the wizard to create a new cluster and this is what shows up in the
System log. I have presented drives to the server and I'm using mount
points.

Thanks.

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: ClusSvc
Event Category: Physical Disk Resource
Event ID: 1208
Date: 9/21/2005
Time: 9:23:25 AM
User: N/A
Computer: MAILSERVER11
Description:
Cluster disk resource "Disk Z:":
Mount point "\\?\Volume{ce87b8f7-29d5-11da-ac2c-505054503030}\MDB32\" for
target volume "\\?\Volume{5730ed2f-26ec-11da-acdc-806e6f6e6963}\" is not
acceptable because the target volume is not a clustered disk. Both the
source and target must be clustered disks. When the source disk is moved to
another node, the mountpoint will become invalid. Also, this mountpoint is
available only on the current node.

Sounds like you might be creating mount points for an Exchanger clustered
resource? Not sure how you have it set up but the way we do it is present
the LUN to one node first, configure the Physical Disk Root resource, then
create the mount points under this Root. Then you can create the Physical
Disk resource to point to the mount points. It is also recomended to use
DiskPar on the partitions to optimize performance. Hope that helps.

Yes. This is for an Exchange cluster. I have followed all the instructions
as you have indicated. The drives were only presented to a single server
which was the only server in the cluster - I didn't have the nodes added
yet.

I believe I found out the problem - something to do with Symantec Antivirus
(SAV) 10. I had problems taking the resources offline and bringing them
back online. During a previous test install I had problems failing over to
other nodes. Once I removed SAV the resources come online and failover like
they should. I also just noticed that the event ID 1208 no longer shows up.
It would show up during the cluster setup and if I brought a resource
offline and then back online.

I have since tested putting SAV 10 back on the server, after the cluster was
configured, and everything works correctly now. ???
