sharing an event list (calendar) across multiple sites |

First, I am a total new user to sharepoint. So if this has been asked
here, and I am sure it has, please have patience with me. My military
unit just started using sharepoint to create different sites for each
unit and subunit. We have two main purposes, to share documents, and
to share an single event calendar across all sites and levels that has
many custom views created to filter out events by unit.
The problem I am having is that I have a calendar that resides at:
h ttp://a/b/c/Lists/Events/Company.aspx
How do I import that calendar onto the page at:
h ttp://a/b/c/d/e/default.aspx
Right now I have imported the calendar as a web capture web part, but
this is problematic as for some reason, I cannot capture just the
calendar webpart itself (when I do I only get the toolbar: New Item,
Link to outlook, etc), I can only capture the whole page, i.e.
http://a/b/c/Lists/Events/Company.aspx. This of course is a web page
within a frame, which isn't what I want to do.
As a Newb, what am I doing wrong and how do I fix it? If there is an
already existing answer, please direct me to it. I am trying to avoid
using Frontpage or having to code to do this if possible. The simple
solution is best, as I may need others who aren't as computer literate
to implement. |
