We're seeing a problem where client machines suddenly have problems
connecting to the DFS root. Rebooting usually fixes the problem, with
reconnecting manually never works. I see no problems on the server, no
errors, etc. Currently there's only one dfs server, and all shares are on
this same server. 2003 SP1 has been applied, but it's still an issue.
There have also been times when the dfs server had to be rebooted. Any
pointers to troubleshooting this appreciated.

Tough call if there's not much in the event logs. Anything weird like this
is only happening on some boxes? Specific users? Otherwise, I would
probably do a network trace.

Re-check client and server logs.

You might also want to Google purge mup cache and see if those issues are
similar to what you are experiencing.
