Hello to All:

I am having a problem with a server in my cluster group. When I fail a
resouce to this server, it comes right back to the original. No error
messages. I would like to rebuild it but I need to know if it should be
evicted first. Does anyone have a process for rebuilding a server in a
cluster group. Thanks.

The procedures to evict/rebuild will depend on some other factors. Do you
have any applications that are hosted on this cluster? Exchange/SQL? Would
you not be interested in determining what is causing this behaviour before
undertaking a rebuild? The problem may persist after the rebuild, if a cause
for the present issue, is not known?

The error messages you would need to see are actually recorded in the
cluster.log file in %systemroot%\cluster. Also, before going the drastic
route of eviction, uninstall, reinstall, re-join...ensure all nodes in the
cluster are listed as 'Possible Owners" for all the resources in the group
that is not failing over properly.
