MSExchangeSRS problem, please help. |
|
|
Hey all,
So I'm getting event ID: 1400
"The Microsoft excahnge Site Replication Service could not initialize its
Exchange database (EDB) and returned error 1. The Site Replication service
will wait in a semi-running state so the database can be restored from
backup and the SRS can mount it."
So this is talking about site replcation? I don't have multiple sites. How
does this apply to my server? Is this a sign that my exchange is slowly
deteriorating?
Any help would be great. Thank you. |

On SBS, the site replication service (Microsoft Exchange Site Replication
Service) should not be running, and its startup type should be set to
Disabled. I'm not sure exactly how one goes about disabling something in a
"semi-running state," so what I would do is to stop the Microsoft Exchange
System Attendant service (it'll stop some others too). Then stop Site
Replication and set it to disabled, then restart the SA and other services
that shut down with it.
At that point, hopefully all will be well with the world - if not, please
post back. |

I had the same troubles with my SRS server not starting up correctly. Its a good job that I never backed up the SRS database as the solution uses the log files to rebuild the edb log files.
eseutil /r edb /i /l:..\srsdata /s:..\srsdata
Hope it helps... if not a bit late |
