Domain DFS and offline files |

I use a domain DFS system and some of the clients are laptop computers (XP
Pro SP2).
I have set their My Documents to an area in the DFS and use OFFLINE files
and syncronisation when they are not on the local network.
I am now starting to have serious problems when they are connected to the
LAN
the machines keep saying that the domain is offline but they can keep
working so the network
connection if definitely still okay.
I have seen various references to this problem but am struggling to find any
answers, except
not to use DFS for offline files, which seems to be a step backwards.
Any help appreciated as this is driving my laptop users mad.
