As I wrote in my previous post, I am new in this field.
We have an old machine holding all the company data.
We just got a new powerful storage server and we want to implement DFS.
I read in some previous posts on this group that you can do a one way
replication to transfer the data.
How do I proceed?
I didn't see a specific way to do one way replication?
Is there a way to know when the replication is finished?

Where can I read more on the subject?
I have already been thru this
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/library/TechRef/20ffb860-f802-455c-9ca2-5194f79a9eb4.mspx
and this
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/techinfo/overview/dfsfaq.mspx#EEAAA
and a little in the nesgroup.

I need something more detailed on procedures.

You can indeed replicate one way, and only allow referrals to a particular
link if you have 2003.

I would start here:

www.microsoft.com/dfs

If you can't find it, post back and I will whip up my VMs and tell you how
to do it (they take ages to load, hence the reason I posted that link ;-)

Thanks for the answer,
I am looking into it to set up a procedure to move all the company data
without failing, keeping all shares and permissions and of course
transparent tu the common user.
I have found some stuff on the subject and am doing some tests.
I will probably have some more questions in the future.
